Vincent hails from a family of perfumers based in Grasse, having been aware of a perfumer’s role from a very young age. “I was fortunate to be born into an environment fueled by passion,” he says. His first encounter with perfumery came during a school internship, where he spent a week in a Grasse perfumery lab—the heart of the perfumery world. “I fell in love with the atmosphere of raw materials, listening to perfumers discuss their compositions, and preparing for their next trips to present new ideas globally... I didn’t want the internship to end.”
After training as a perfumer, Vincent has worked in various fragrance houses across France, boasting a CV with over 20 years of experience. He has also served as a professor at the École Supérieure du Parfum in Paris.
In 2020, Vincent Ricord joined CPL as a Senior Perfumer, operating from CPL’s creative hub in Paris for the Dubai, UK, and France Divisions. He thrives on the contrast of sharing ideas on projects and briefs with colleagues and clients, drawing inspiration from colors, artists, travel, food, and music—elements that enrich the creative process. He describes this process as: “Being in the intimacy of a blank page and a pen, transforming those emotions into a fragrance... It’s a magical moment.”
Beyond perfumery, Vincent is passionate about music, noting parallels between it and perfumery in how skills are honed to eventually create compositions independently. Both disciplines rely on skill, knowledge, and practice. “When composing a fragrance for a brand, I feel like a film music composer seeking the perfect accord for a specific scene.”
In 2023, Vincent began his work with TechnicoFlor company.
