Born and raised in Moscow, Russia, Adam (whose birth name remains Adam) has established a notable reputation in the world of perfumery. Approximately a decade ago, while studying English in Australia, he was introduced to Islam. His Saudi Arabian friends deepened his understanding of the religion, ultimately leading to his conversion—a pivotal moment that also ignited his passion for perfumes.
Adam’s love for fragrances drove him to amass an extensive collection of Arabian perfumes, pure oud oils, and attars. He began sharing his collection by selling his own blends on eBay and collaborating with his friend Sultan Pasha to craft pure oud and attar compositions in London. Over the years, through his oud distillery,Feel Oud, based in Indonesia, he has distilled nearly 100 varieties of high-quality, pure agarwood oils. Through his brandAreej Le Doré, he has created several acclaimed scents, includingBaikal Gris,Russian Oud,Russian Musk, andOud Luwak.
Adam’s fascination with the art of “agarwood olfactory rebirth” inspired him to experiment with distillation techniques, meticulously studying how minute adjustments impact the final product. Using agarwood as his sole medium, he learned to manipulate the distillation process to achieve specific aromatic effects.
Driven to create more complex olfactory art, he expanded his craft, incorporating a curated range of exclusive and rare ingredients intoAreej Le Doré’s offerings. His innovative approach includes unique methods like distilling sandalwood with Zamzam water (a holy water source from Mecca, Saudi Arabia) and integrating flower hydrosols into the distillation process.
Adam draws inspiration from classic Indian attars and their traditional distillation methods, a influence evident in his latest collection,The History of Attar. Rooted in these timeless attars, the collection features alcohol-based perfumes enriched with additional notes and ingredients to elevate their compositions.
