In 2008, Philippine Courtière made a bold and unconventional pivot from international law to perfumery. A Parisian trained in law and administration, she followed an intuitive calling that led her from courtrooms to the art of olfactory creation. Balancing visionary ambition with practical rigor, she embraced the world with refined curiosity and a free-spirited ethos—qualities that would define her signature as a perfumer.
Guided by industry luminaries like Francis Kurkdjian, Michel Almairac, and Jacques Cavallier during her formative years, she honed her craft across global fragrance hubs: Paris, Geneva, and New York. Notably, New York’s raw energy and uncompromising scent profiles influenced her modern, instinct-driven approach to composition.
In 2014, officially named a perfumer, she relocated to Dubai, immersing herself in the opulent traditions of Middle Eastern perfumery. Dividing her time between Dubai and Paris, she created for prestigious houses while absorbing cross-cultural influences. In 2018, she returned to Paris before joining Symrise’s Dubai Creative Center in 2021, where her multicultural perspective continues to inspire innovative fragrances.
As a Senior Perfumer today, Courtière is celebrated for blending poetic elegance with worldly depth.
