Dominique Preyssas is a prolific fine-fragrance perfumer, whose work distinguishes itself through precision, aesthetic elegance, and sensory potency. As an exceptional technician, he diverged from a scientific trajectory after earning his chemistry degree, dedicating three additional years to rigorous study at ISIPCA to pursue his passion for artistic composition.

Following his education at the renowned Roure Bertrand Dupont Perfumery School, he joined Mane Fils—two institutions instrumental in shaping some of the industry’s most celebrated olfactory talents. His career progression included roles at Takasago before he joined CPL Aromas in 2003.

Preyssas has crafted a vast portfolio of best-selling scents for global brands, staying attuned to contemporary trends through his love of travel and active membership in the Société Française des Parfumeurs. Beyond perfumery, he finds inspiration in unexpected moments, recharging through weekly tennis matches and, more recently, golf.

A proponent of modern fragrance molecules, he particularly favors amber-family ingredients like ambrocenide and dextro-norlimbanol. "These compounds are incredibly potent and long-lasting," he notes. "They can be used in pure form or diluted, offering versatile effects—from enhancing a composition’s volume and intensity to imparting clean, ultra-modern amber, dry woody, or animalic signatures. I’ve incorporated them extensively in niche fragrances for both genders."
