Christophe Laudamielis a distinguished French perfumer and co-founder of DreamAir creative studios in New York City. With over two decades of expertise in the fragrance industry, Laudamiel has collaborated with leading global companies, including Procter & Gamble, Fragrance Resources, and International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF).

Early Life and Academic Journey
Laudamiel’s passion for chemistry and fragrance creation ignited early, sparked by his victory in the French National Chemistry Olympiads in 1986. He pursued studies in Mathematics and Physics at Lycée Blaise Pascal in Clermont-Ferrand, later earning a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the European Higher Institute of Chemistry in Strasbourg, France. In 1991, he joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a Procter & Gamble Teaching Fellow, launching a PhD program while teaching chemistry. After a year, he transitioned to a teaching assistant role in Chemistry at Harvard University.
Professional Career in Perfumery
In 1994, Laudamiel enrolled in the Procter & Gamble Creative Perfumery School in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, studying under Principle Perfumer Allan McRitchie and Senior Perfumer Christine Cahen. In 1997, he graduated with a creative perfumery degree from P&G’s European Center in Brussels, Belgium, under the guidance of Principle Perfumer Robert Lecoq and Senior Perfumers Catherine Ganahl and Hugo Denutte. Soon after, he was promoted to Senior Perfumer by Society Master Perfumer Rafael Trujillo, a principal mentor of Victor Mills.
In 1999, Laudamiel received the Procter & Gamble Special Recognition Award for his groundbreaking work in fragrance creation—particularly for fabric softeners—and his discoveries of new fragrance molecules and technologies. He briefly studied fine fragrance creation with Master Perfumer Pierre Bourdon (1999–2000) before joining International Flavors & Fragrances in Manhattan in 2000. There, he worked alongside perfumery icons Carlos Benaim, Sophia Grojsman, and Pierre Wargnye, deepening his expertise in the craft.

Throughout his career, Laudamiel has developed some of the industry’s most iconic scents, includingRalph Lauren Polo Blue,Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce, andTom Ford Amber Absolute. His portfolio also includes collaborations with renowned brands such as Clinique, Estée Lauder, Michael Kors, Mugler, and Tommy Hilfiger.

Beyond his perfumery work, Laudamiel serves as founder and president of the non-profitAcademy of Perfumery and Aromatics. In 2019, he was appointed Chief Perfumer at BélAir Lab in Tokyo, a perfume composition and technology studio managed by Rohto Pharmaceuticals.
