  Bertrand Duchaufour is a renowned French perfumer celebrated for his contributions to both mainstream and niche fragrance houses. He initiated his career in 1985 at the Lautier Florasynth group in Grasse, later spending several years at Créations Aromatiques and Symrise, where he refined his craft as a fine fragrance perfumer.

  Duchaufour’s first signature scent,Amber & Lavenderfor Jo Malone, debuted in 1995. He went on to craft fragrances for esteemed perfume houses including Penhaligon's, Acqua di Parma, Comme des Garçons, Givenchy, and Christian Dior.

  In 2008, he established himself as an independent perfumer, taking on direct commissions and serving as the in-house perfumer for L'Artisan Parfumeur. During his decade-long tenure with the brand, he created iconic fragrances such asTimbuktu,Dzongkha,Nuit de Tubereuse, andFleur de Liane. He also contributed to other niche labels like Aedes De Venustas and MDCI Parfums.

  Following his departure from L'Artisan Parfumeur, Duchaufour continued collaborating with niche brands. For The Vagabond Prince, he developedEnchanted ForestandLand of Warriors, and he has since created scents for Neela Vermeire Creations, Naomi Goodsir Parfums, and numerous others.

  Renowned for his innovative use of ingredients—especially incense—Duchaufour excels in crafting complex, multi-layered fragrances that balance modernity with timeless appeal. His work has garnered critical acclaim and played a pivotal role in shaping the contemporary niche perfume landscape.
