- Apryl Webb Perfumer:
Apryl Webb is an accomplished perfumer hailing from Cambridge, England, whose journey into the world of fragrance is as captivating as the scents she creates.
Before becoming a perfumer, Webb had a career as an architectural technologist. She was involved in producing construction designs for various large architectural practices, councils, and corporations in the UK. However, life took an unexpected turn, prompting her to re-evaluate her priorities and pursue her true passion - perfume. This led her to retrain at a professional level in the art and technology of perfumery. She learned from two highly inspirational perfumers and trainers, Stephen V. Dowthwaite and Ryan T. Chadwick of Perfumersworld, in London and Bangkok. After dedicated study and with the encouragement of her mentors, she emerged as a certified perfumer and founded her own indie/artisan perfumery brand near Cambridge.
Webb's travels have significantly influenced her work. Having experienced the diverse sights, sounds, and smells of various intoxicating cultures around the world, she draws inspiration from these adventures to recreate unique olfactory experiences in her perfumes. Her creations aim to capture the essence of different places and emotions, allowing wearers to embark on a sensory journey with each spritz.
Among her notable works are "Havana Vieja" and "Sevilla". "Havana Vieja" is an Eau de Parfum that serves as a fragrant portrait of the beautiful Cuban city of Old Havana. It encapsulates the city's charm, with top notes of aldehydes, petitgrain, and sweet orange. The heart features hyacinth, davana, and patchouli with a hint of chocolate, while the base notes of warm leather, musk, amber, tree moss, and tobacco complete the picture, reminiscent of the city's historic buildings, women in colonial dress, and famous Cuban cigars.
On the other hand, "Sevilla" also in Eau de Parfum form, captures the essence of the beautiful Spanish city. As one imagines stepping onto the streets of Seville, the top notes of sweet orange, grapefruit, lime leaf, and petitgrain hit the nose, followed by a heart of ripe melon and narcotic flowers like jasmin, mimosa, gardenia, and orange blossom. The base notes of warm sandalwood and seaweed add to the authenticity, making it a tenacious perfume that lingers in the memory, just like the first intoxicating breath in the city of Seville. These two fragrances can be worn alone or layered together to combine the allure of two of the world's most captivating Hispanic cities.
Apryl Webb's perfumes, with their unique and carefully crafted compositions, have gained recognition among fragrance enthusiasts. Her dedication to the art of perfumery and her ability to translate her experiences into scents make her a remarkable figure in the world of independent and artisanal perfumery.
