Amanda Walker Perfumer

  • Amanda Walker Perfumer:

Amanda Walker is a distinguished figure in the world of perfumery. She founded A Perfume Organic in New York City in 2009, a natural perfume house dedicated to crafting exceptional scents.

Before venturing into the organic perfume realm, Amanda had experience working for large beauty corporations in Manhattan. However, she became concerned about the synthetic ingredients in many mainstream perfumes, which often include acetone, petro - chemicals, and phthalates linked to health issues like asthma and migraines, as well as air pollution. Inspired by her training with master perfumers and distillers, who reminded her that perfume originally derived from natural sources like flowers, fruit, herbs, and spices, she decided to take a different path.

A Perfume Organic is committed to using only the finest USDA - certified organic botanicals. Each formula is carefully blended and hand - poured in small batches in Manhattan to maintain purity, and remarkably, each formula is individually certified organic. This attention to detail and quality sets her brand apart.

Amanda has also made significant efforts in sustainable packaging. The brand's petite bottles and boxes embedded with flower seeds can be planted and recycled, minimizing wasteful packaging and the brand's ecological footprint.

In the database, there are five perfumes under the A Perfume Organic label that Amanda has been involved with. These include scents like Green (introduced in 2009, a floral green fragrance suitable for both genders), Mejica (a 2010 amber spicy unisex fragrance), Perfumed Wine - Rosé (a captivating unisex perfume launched in 2010), Urban Organic (a citrus aromatic unisex scent from 2009), and White Magik (a unisex fragrance in 2010).

Amanda Walker has not only created a successful line of organic perfumes but also shared her knowledge within the industry. She has given instructional classes at the New York Open Center, presented at the Eyebeam Art & Technology Center in New York, and designed experiential scent features for New York Fashion Week. Her work has also been featured in the design textbook Packaging the Brand, solidifying her status as an innovator in scent formulation and ecological packaging in the world of perfumery.
