Revlon is an American cosmetics enterprise established in 1932 amid the Great Depression. The company’s founding team comprised brothers Charles and Joseph Revson, together with chemist Charles Lachman—whose last name contributes the "L" to the "Revlon" moniker. Their journey began with a single innovative product: a nail polish formulated with pigments rather than dyes, which delivered far more opaque coverage. This breakthrough polish gained significant traction in both department stores and drugstores, propelling the company into rapid growth as a leading provider of manicure tools. Into the 21st century, Revlon has retained its status as one of the world’s largest mass-market manufacturers of cosmetics and fragrances.
