Ramon Monegal is the founder and in-house perfumer ofRamon Monegal Parfums, a brand based in Barcelona.
From the very start of his career as a perfumer, Monegal demonstrated remarkable courage, refined taste, and masterful command of the most complex and expensive raw materials. He brought exceptional sensitivity and meticulous attention to detail to every phase and aspect of crafting his fragrances. Eager to deepen his expertise across diverse fields, he pursued studies at the Barcelona Design Centre in 1977, followed by enrollment at ESADE one year later—all while balancing this academic training with specialized perfume studies in Paris.
In 1979, Monegal created his debut fragrance,“Alada”. Around the same time, he took on the role of Creative Director at Myrurgia, where he developed distinctive “olfactory identities” for over twenty licensed brands—including Adolfo Dominguez, Antonio Miró, Aigner, Ines de la Fresange, and Massimo Dutti—achieving considerable success with these collaborations. His contributions were further recognized in 1985, when he was appointed to Myrurgia’s board of directors; he later advanced to the position of Senior Vice-President. In 2000, Myrurgia was acquired by Antonio Puig, which retained Monegal’s services to continue leading the development of several licensed fragrance lines and new brands, such as Maison Parfum.
In 2007, Monegal departed the Puig Group to establish himself as an independent perfumer. After a period of reflection, he embarked on the project he had long dreamed of: creating fragrances entirely free from creative constraints.
