Chloé is a French fashion house founded by designer Gaby Aghion in 1952. Born in Egypt, Aghion relocated to Paris in 1945 and launched Chloé several years later. She is widely recognized for coining the iconic fashion term and concept of "prêt-à-porter" (meaning "ready-to-wear"). In contrast to the rigid, formal, made-to-measure garments offered by couture designers of the 1950s, Chloé opted to craft soft, wearable, form-fitting pieces from luxurious fabrics, designed to be purchased "off the rack." This was a revolutionary and trendsetting concept in the fashion world at the time, and it remains a enduring motif in the industry to this day.
