Missoni is an Italian designer house based in Milan, renowned for its exquisite knitwear. As a family-run business, it was founded by Rosita and Ottavio (Tai) Missoni. Ottavio was born in Ragusa (now Dubrovnik) on the Dalmatian coast. His father was Vittorio Missoni, a sea captain, and his mother was Teresa De Vidović, a Dalmatian noblewoman holding the titles of Countess of Capocesto and Ragosniza.
Rosita and Ottavio first crossed paths at the 1948 London Olympic Games. Prior to meeting his wife, Ottavio specialized in crafting sports suits, but shortly after their marriage, the couple shifted their focus to producing knitwear dresses. Their signature style lies in multihued knitwear, featuring vibrant combinations of yellow, red, rose, and brown. The brand ventured into perfumery in the 1980s, though none of those early fragrances are in production today. A new fragrance, developed in collaboration with Estée Lauder, was launched in 2006, with their granddaughter overseeing its promotion and supervision.
In our fragrance database, there are 17 perfumes under the Missoni label. The earliest was created in 1981, and the most recent dates back to 2020. These fragrances were crafted in partnership with renowned perfumers such as Maurice Roucel, Trudi Loren, Quentin Bisch, Christophe Raynaud, Tristan Brando, and Enzo Galardi.
