Leveraging their industry expertise, they named their company M•A•C Cosmetics, with "M•A•C" standing for Makeup Artist Cosmetics. From the outset, the brand took a distinct approach compared to other cosmetics companies. It initially focused on designing products specifically tailored to the needs of professional makeup artists. As the popularity of its products grew, they became available to consumers worldwide.
One of the brand's guiding principles is to keep pace with the rapidly evolving trends in fashion and makeup. Some of the most prominent trends reflected in its makeup lines include glam, goth, and glitter. M•A•C has consistently strived to stay ahead of the competition, often being the first to introduce new trends.
