Shortly after the French Revolution, Pierre François Lubin established his perfume house on Rue Sainte Anne in Paris. He supplied perfumed ribbons, ball masks, and rice powders to the "Incroyables" and "Merveilleuses." His most celebrated creation, however, was "Eau Vivifiante," later renamed "Eau de Lubin." This fragrance quickly earned him favor at the Imperial court, marking the start of Lubin's fame—all thanks to Empress Joséphine and Pauline Bonaparte, Princess Borghese. When the Bourbon monarchy was restored, the perfumer dedicated his fragrances to Queen Marie-Amélie.

Through these distinguished ladies, the crowned heads of Europe came to place their trust in Lubin. His archives proudly feature the coats of arms of France, the King of England, and the Russian Tsar. He also added the American Eagle to this esteemed collection, having become the first perfumer to conquer the New World in 1830. From the banks of the Mississippi to the palaces of India, his fragrances soon gained worldwide renown.

Our fragrance database includes 44 perfumes by Lubin, an esteemed historic perfume house. The earliest edition dates back to 1798, with the most recent released in 2021.
