From the Krigler dynasty emerges a collection of mysteriously alluring, elite fragrances—products of a historically iconic perfume house, born from founder Albert Krigler’s vision to craft one-of-a-kind luxury scents using handpicked, finest ingredients sourced globally. A Berlin-native chemist, Albert Krigler first honed his skills as an apprentice at the Moscow factory of the French firm Rallet.

In 1879, Albert Krigler crafted his very first fragrance as an engagement gift for his French fiancée, naming itPleasure Gardenia 79. When he opened his debut perfume boutique in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1904,Pleasure Gardenia 79took center stage as the first scent he offered for sale. Soon after, he developedHermitage Heritage 04—a signature fragrance tailored for men.

A few years later, in 1909, Krigler relocated to the South of France, spending time in the renowned Champagne region. His fragrances quickly gained acclaim, finding their way to markets in Prussia, Eastern Europe, and the glamorous French Riviera. By 1914, the upheaval of war reshaped the brand’s trajectory, solidifying Krigler as a France-based perfume house.

Krigler Perfumes rose to early prominence in the 1920s, becoming a beloved choice among the era’s celebrities and royalty. Tastemakers and trendsetters alike were drawn to Krigler’s scents—each inspired by iconic, high-profile locales such as Monte Carlo, the Italian Riviera, and the sun-drenched Mediterranean.

In 1931, Krigler expanded its reach to New York City, launching its fragrances at the legendary Plaza Hotel. This milestone year also marked the creation ofAmerica One 31. During the 1940s and World War II, the loss of numerous European clientele led Krigler to evolve into a French-American enterprise. The 1950s brought a brief resurgence in European business, but tragedy struck in 1954 with the passing of Albert Krigler.

The fourth generation of Krigler perfumers shifted focus to the brand’s bespoke services, encompassing both fragrances and scented candles. Krigler’s fragrances are masterfully blended to complement the wearer—never to overpower them. Each lavish scent is crafted with meticulous care, using only the most exquisite natural ingredients. Albert Krigler once noted:“If we say to someone, ‘What a nice perfume,’ that means the perfume is wrong. But if we say, ‘You smell good,’ that means the perfume is perfect for that person.”

Rooted in five generations of luxury fragrance expertise, Krigler reopened its doors at New York City’s Plaza Hotel in 2007—a location that has been the epicenter of elegance since the brand’s first debut there in 1931. Today, Krigler continues its time-honored tradition of delivering exceptional fragrance craftsmanship, offering both its classic scents and refreshed, exciting iterations of beloved favorites. Leading this legacy is Ben Krigler, the fifth-generation owner and the driving force behind the brand today.
