  Jessica Simpson is an American pop sensation, television personality, actress, and fashion entrepreneur. Born in Texas in 1980, she first found success in the gospel music scene, but her greatest achievements came as a pop star during the late 1990s teen pop boom in the recording industry. Her debut pop album,Sweet Kisses, sold 2 million copies in the United States. While touring with the band 98 Degrees, Simpson met her future husband, band member Nick Lachey—who later became her co-star in the reality seriesNewlyweds, which chronicled their first year of marriage.
