Madame Hanae Mori stands as Japan’s most internationally acclaimed female fashion designer. She made history as the first Japanese woman to showcase her clothing collections on the runways of Paris and New York, and remains the only Japanese woman to gain admission to France’s exclusive haute couture circle. Over the course of her long and illustrious career, she has been honored with the Legion of Honor by the President of France and the Order of Culture by the Emperor of Japan.
In the 1950s, Hanae Mori blazed a trail by opening her own eponymous clothing boutique in Tokyo—the first Japanese woman to do so. Her stylish designs, often inspired by butterflies, were complemented by her costume work for major motion pictures and operas.
Hanae Mori Parfums, crafted in France, carry the name of this legendary fashion designer, embodying the same elegant beauty and simplicity across the globe. Hanae Mori Butterfly was launched in 1996.
To date, designer Hanae Mori has 16 perfumes in our fragrance collection. The earliest was created in 1996, with the most recent debuting in 2016. These fragrances were crafted under the expertise of nose Bernard Ellena.
