  Born in Antwerp in 1958, Dries Van Noten is the third generation in a family of tailors. At the age of 18, he enrolled in the fashion design program at Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts. Upon graduating, he worked as a freelance consultant designer before launching his own menswear collection in 1986. Since its inception, Dries Van Noten has presented women’s and men’s collections for both Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter each year. He celebrated his 50th fashion show in 2004 and his 100th in 2017.

  In June 2008, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) honored Dries Van Noten with its International Designer of the Year Award. In 2014, he opened “Dries Van Noten: Inspirations,” the first major exhibition dedicated to his designs and influences, at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. A revised version of the exhibition traveled to Antwerp in 2015. In July of that year, France awarded him the title ofOfficier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. In October 2016, he received the Culture Award from the Province of Antwerp in recognition of his contributions to culture.

  In June 2018, Puig acquired a majority stake in Dries Van Noten’s company. The designer remains a significant minority shareholder and continues to serve as Chief Creative Officer and Chairman of the Board.

  In 2019, Van Noten collaborated with world-renowned fashion designer Christian Lacroix on his Women’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection. In June 2020 and September 2021, he was again nominated for the CFDA’s International Designer of the Year Award.

  Dries Van Noten has 18 fragrances in our fragrance database. The brand entered the perfume market relatively recently, with the earliest edition launched in 2022 and the latest in 2025. His fragrances have been created in collaboration with perfumers Suzy Le Helley, Julien Rasquinet, Paul Guerlain, Nicolas Bonneville, Jean-Christophe Hérault, Quentin Bisch, Jordi Fernández, Daniela Andrier, Fanny Bal, Annick Menardo, Louise Turner, Amelie Jacquin, Daphné Bugey, Nisrine Bouazzaoui Grillié, Marie Salamagne, Alexandra Monet, and Nicolas Beaulieu.
