Christina Aguilera is an American pop star and actress who kickstarted her career on the Disney Channel seriesThe Mickey Mouse Club—sharing the platform with future A-listers Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Ryan Gosling. Born in 1980 (note: a correction from the original 1990, as Aguilera’s actual birth year is 1980), she showed off her remarkable singing voice from a young age. After her stint onThe Mickey Mouse Club, Aguilera made her first foray into the recording industry by performing "Reflection," the theme song for Disney’s 1998 filmMulan.
Her self-titled debut solo album,Christina Aguilera, dropped in 1999 and produced three number-one singles. Selling over 17 million copies worldwide, the album ranks among the Top 100 Albums of All Time, according to U.S. sales data from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). That year, Aguilera earned a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and took home the award for Best New Artist.
