The brand’s journey traces back to 1920, when Guido Galardi—grandfather of the current family stewards—first began experimenting with perfume formulas in his small workshop in Florence. He would gather “Spigo” (lavender flowers) as they ripened on the hills surrounding the city. His pursuit of olfactory excellence encompassed a diverse range of expressions: essential oils, scented solutions, and fragrant sachets. These elements collectively inspired and defined the brand, originally namedBottega Italiana Spigo 1920(later abbreviated to BOIS 1920). Over the decades, the brand has grown to attain global renown, accompanied by prestigious accolades. Notably, in 2012, Bois 1920 was named one of the top five olfactory creations at the FiFi Awards—widely regarded as the “Oscars of Perfumery”—held in New York.
