Alexandria Fragrances is a fragrance house founded and helmed by Hany Hafez. A native of Cairo, Egypt, Hafez now lives in Anaheim, California, where he continues to craft and blend his distinctive scents. From an early age, he was immersed in the world of fragrance through his mother’s family business—experiences that sparked his curiosity to explore and experiment with perfume-making, blending oils to create unique scents of his own.
In 2002, Hafez opened his first fragrance shop in Cairo, while also working part-time as a tour guide. In this role, he ensured visitors were directed to reputable shops and bazaars for purchasing essential and perfume oils. After running the shop for eight years, he spent a short time in Europe before relocating to the United States in 2011.
Upon arriving in the U.S., Hafez observed the high prices and inconsistent quality of niche fragrances. This inspired him to revisit his roots in perfume-making, with a mission to create luxury fragrances that offer competitive pricing and exceptional performance. In 2017—after years of helping others launch their own fragrance brands—he introduced Alexandria Fragrances.
The brand focuses on crafting quality scents tailored to diverse tastes and preferences. It explicitly states that while its products draw inspiration from other brands, they do not replicate them or claim direct association.
