This marks the final olfactory odyssey inspired by the realms of dreams and memories for this year.
The theme and inspiration behind this new Soul Tattoo project stem from an age-old ancestral tradition: with the arrival of the new year in my village of Hotaru – nestled in the Danube Plain near the Bulgarian border – children ride on horseback, clad in traditional attire, embodying the 12 outlaws of Iancu Jianu who once roamed the forests of Oltenia County, Romania. Meanwhile, others, dressed as soldiers or priests, wander from gate to gate, house to house, chanting the verses of the New Year carols passed down through countless generations.
