Mane, hooves, neighing, galloping, jumping… Kicking. A kick to the beast’s flank for a bold, punchy scent. It is the full-throated passion of the horse that distills this exceptional perfume, crafted around an abundance of natural oud wood.
A scent of remembrance: that of returning to the stables after a weekend of show jumping competitions. It is a discipline Marc-Antoine Corticchiato has long practiced, and here he evokes it—the adrenaline of the contest, the joy of stepping back into the stable…
A perfume that is a universe unto itself, one rooted in the equestrian world: the moment when horses are unloaded from the truck and led back to their stalls. Then we fetch the canteens from the van, those large trunks from which a medley of intense animal aromas rises: leather from harnesses and gaiters, saliva from bits, sweat from saddle cloths, tar used to coat hooves, traces of straw and hay clinging to blankets…
To capture the scent of opening those trunks, Marc-Antoine turned to perfumery’s most challenging material: oud wood essence. Distilled since the year 1000, its fragrant resin is born from an attack on Aquilaria wood, emerging through an extraordinarily slow process that unfolds over decades. This sumptuous liquid gold, used here in abundance, unfurls all its grandeur.
Wild and floral, narcissus heightens Ruade’s audacious character with its mane-like nuances and straw-like undertones. The absolute of cut hay lends its potency to the evocation of hay bales, their scent saturating the air and stirring the horses into a frenzy.
An intrepid perfume, brimming with precious materials in excess—saturated with animality, and as rebellious as a sudden kick.
