In early 2018, the seventh iteration of Prada’s beloved Luna Rossa fragrance line made its way to store shelves:Luna Rossa Black. This latest addition follows in the footsteps of the original Luna Rossa (launched in 2012) and the more recent Luna Rossa Carbon, which debuted in 2017.
The entire Luna Rossa fragrance collection draws inspiration from the Prada Luna Rossa sailing challenge—a prestigious Italian sailboat racing syndicate initially established to compete in the 2000 America’s Cup, with Prada serving as a co-sponsor. All scents in the line are crafted by renowned perfumer Daniela Andrier, while their iconic bottle designs are the work of acclaimed designer Yves Behar.

Luna Rossa Black boasts a distinct olfactory profile: its top notes open with bright bergamot and earthy angelica; the heart unfolds with rich patchouli and warm coumarin; and the base lingers with smooth woody amber. A notable departure from its predecessors is the absence of lavender—a key aromatic signature that defined many earlier editions of the Luna Rossa series.
