In February 2009, Guerlain unveiled an exclusive, limited - edition iteration of La Petite Robe Noire. Come February 2011, the brand introduced the second limited edition in the line, La Petite Robe Noire 2. Then, in early 2012, Guerlain made the decision to reintroduce the original fragrance, making it available to a wider market. This new version of La Petite Robe Noire underwent modifications and was crafted by the in - house perfumer Thierry Wasser.
Drawing inspiration from the elegance and timelessness of a little black dress, the perfume radiates Parisian chic and grace. It opens with lively, sparkling notes of black cherry, bergamot, red berries, and almond. At its heart, Bulgarian and Turkish roses take center stage, with further development coming from hints of licorice and smoked black tea. The base is composed of aniseed, tonka bean, vanilla, iris, and patchouli.

The bottles in the La Petite Robe Noire collection are modeled after the classic vials of the house, like L'Heure Bleue. The dress print has been adjusted, meaning each of the three previous bottles features a distinct design of the garment. The animated advertising campaign was the work of French artists Olivier Kuntzel and Florence Deygas.
