Guerlain launched L'Homme Ideal in 2014. In spring 2015, the first reinterpretation, L'Homme Ideal Cologne, arrived as a lighter and more invigorating version. The third flanker, described as more intense, sensual, and mysterious, L'Homme Ideal Eau de Parfum, was released in April 2016.
Developed by Guerlain's in-house perfumer Thierry Wasser in collaboration with colleague Delphine Jelk, this new fragrance is a woody-oriental blend centered on almond, enhanced with leather and Guerlinade vanilla. The opening reveals bergamot, spices, and almond, while the heart features Turkish rose, incense, and vanilla. The base notes are sandalwood, leather, and tonka bean.

The bottle maintains its original shape, rendered in a soft amber hue with the logo letters in bright orange. The fragrance is available in 50 ml and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.
