In 2011, Amouage unveiled a new fragrance duo: Honour Woman and Honour Man. These scents pay homage to the tragic tale of Madame Butterfly—Cio-Cio-San, the geisha who married an American naval officer and waited three long years for his return. More precisely, the inspiration behind these new creations stems from the final act of the operaMadame Butterfly, in which Madame Butterfly takes her own life.

Honour Woman is a fragrance centered on white florals and resins. White florals here serve as a symbol of unrequited love’s poignant journey. Crafted by perfumers Alexandra Carlin and Violaine Collas, its top notes open with a spicy blend of pepper, rhubarb, and coriander. At its heart, the fragrance blooms with a lush bouquet of tuberose, jasmine, gardenia, lily of the valley, and carnation. The base unfolds into a warm, oriental foundation, featuring notes of frankincense, vetiver, opoponax, amber, and leather.

Honour Woman is available as an Eau de Parfum (EDP) in 50 ml and 100 ml sizes.
