In her debut interview since joining Chanel in September 2024, Cattaneo shared, “I feel deeply honored and privileged to have become part of such an iconic house—one that I have admired and respected throughout my entire career.”

COMPOSITION
For CHANCE EAU SPLENDIDE, Olivier Polge—CHANEL’s In-House Perfumer-Creator—crafted a scent that balances radiance and magnetism. At the fragrance’s opening, a vibrant, sparkling raspberry accord takes center stage: enriched with crisp fruity nuances, plus delicate rose and violet facets, it rises gracefully to reveal an opulent, luminous floral heart—anchored by rose geranium. This exquisite geranium, cultivatedexclusivelyin CHANEL’s fields in Grasse, naturally carries rosy freshness and subtle minty undertones. Complemented by sophisticated, powdery iris and wrapped in a mysterious cedar-white musk accord, the fragrance unfolds into an alluring fruity-floral whirlwind: one that is as elegant as it is mesmerizing.
Every fragrance in the Chance collection is defined by its signature freshness and distinct olfactory identity. For EAU SPLENDIDE, Perfumer Olivier Polge turned his focus to exploring a spectrum of fruity notes.
“I ultimately gravitated toward a raspberry-driven accord,” Polge explained. “I chose to highlight this accord because, beyond its red fruit character and the subtle peach-like quality it naturally holds, it stands apart from other berries—thanks to its inherent violet and rosy nuances. That’s when I thought: ‘Ah, this is where the perfume begins.’”
The composition further spotlights a pure extract of geranium rosat leaf, part of which is cultivated in Chanel’s own fields.
“It has this wonderfully natural, rosy impression,” Polge noted. To round out the scent, he infused musks and cedarwood into the base—crafting a refined, long-lasting trail that lingers.
